I just replaced an 18 month old Bosch with a Whirlpool and it works fine. The Bosch was still under parts warranty but the labor to repair was so expensive I decided to buy the whirlpool, at least I can buy parts and repair it myself.

We replaced an older dishwasher with a Whirlpool dishwasher and it has done an excellent job for like 10 years! GE Profile is also good.

FYI recently we had an appliance repair company help us install a Stainless Steel combination Microwave Electric Oven as well as fix the icemaker on our side by side refrigerator and when asking the owner about extended warranties etc, i remember the remark he said about how many dishwashers he often fixed was because people didn’t take the extra time to wash or clean off the heavy grime on their dishes before pulling them into their dishwashers and it often burnt out the motor!

True or not, I don’t honestly know but such advice may help make your next dishwasher outlive all others… Also now that I think about your situation, definitely buying the EXTENDED WARRANTY on Your New Dishwasher would be an investment worth some consideration bec replacement/repair would be mostly at THEIR EXPENSE

the best dishwasher over all is a Bosch…hands down. You can pick one up at Lowe,s less than you paid for a kitchen aid which is essentially a whirlpool with some stainless in it. the Bosch will wash better, run longer, and alot quieter. even though I don’t like consumer report they give Bosch a great rating…..but they have no clue about how to judge quality. I have owed a Bosch for a long time there wonderful. Kenmore is a whirlpool also. If you had no luck with kitchen aid don’t get a Kenmore

See Consumer Reports for listing of best appliances. I like Sears’s Kenmore brand.

Avoid Indisit, ours lasted less than 2 years.
Avoid Servis, they have bad after sales service, ours broke after 8 months, it took 4 months to make a decision whether to fix it or not, in the mean time I fixed it.
Bosch seem to be a good make but I have no experience with them.

The reason why nothing is built to last these days is, because if lasts too long, then the manufacturer can’t sell their merchandise fast enough to make any real money.
